Texas with the 62in

#1 Post by Gringa Bows » Sat Sep 28, 2013 3:48 pm

I had a chance to go to Texas for a few days hunting with my little friend Suzi,my missus was in Bris so couldn't come with us,we got there Wednesday just before dark I set up the camper Suzi wasn't much help ,but I know she'd like to,any way I sharpened the 190 ribbies that I had glued to my tulip oak shafts that nutgrass made for me ready for the morning....i got up about 630am put on my gear grabbed my 62in curve I made for myself and headed towards the scrub, I left Suzi in the camper to sleep,i walked about a hundred yards spotted a pig to my left at abou 15yrds she turned to run so I took the shot I didn't see where the arra went so thought I missed ,walked another 30yrds and could see another pig maybe the same distance as the first with her head behind a tree, there was no clear shot so waited, then she walked out in the open and the arrow hit her just behind the front leg she staggered and fell down dead,so I went to find my arrow from the first pig ,and I was surprised to find it dead too only a few yrds from where ide shot her,the arrow went in in front of her back leg and came out between her front legs,so both pigs were clean quick kills and I blooded my 62 curve all within 10 minits of leaving camp

Well done mate - great to see more game taken! Gotta be happy to be spotting deer from camp too...

Jees mate, it looks like a good property! How'd you get onto that joint?

What Rod hasn't told you blokes is that a few have tried, but in 3-4 years of going there no-one, except Rod, has taken anything on that block, let alone with Trad gear they made themselves! Awesome stuff Boof, well done indeed!
Lately, if life were treating me any better, I'd be suspicious of it's motives!
