Billy goat surprise

#1 Post by matt61 » Sun Aug 18, 2013 4:07 pm

Here's a couple of pics of a Billy goat that I snuck up on that was sound asleep in the shade under a tree and grabbed and then let go on a hunting trip to Byrock last November.

Great pics mate... is that a battered old slouchy on your noggin?

Hi All
Thanks for the replies. He probably was counting sheep, the property runs Dameras that are all different colours and
they are sharper at busting you than the goats. Had the slouch hat over twenty five years, its been on a lot of walks in the bush. No Rex or Barnaby(Please explain said Pauline about Barnaby as I have not heard that one) just a little toe in behind and he was off like rat up a drain pipe  . Being a Farm boy I will grab just about anything even had ago at catching
a Lace moniter on the same trip, but he beat me up the tree by the skin of his tail. Took a lot of pic's of it cleaning up the entrails from the goat I shot the day before and tried to grab him with his mouth full  . Had to go diving to get that goat ,it died right on the edge of the dam and rolled in and sunk in about eight feet of water. One of my hunting mates took some photo's of me coming out of the dam with that goat, but being a fine figure of a man I won't stun you with those pic's  . Here's one of the Goanna.

Haha...... great story tellin' Matt, enjoyed your post a lot, thanks.

Good photos too, I've never seen a lace monitor with that blotchy colouration around here, they tend to be basically black with small bands like the fella in the photo below (not my photo - ripped off from google).... very interesting.

Yeah, good one mate! Must have been bloody tired, hey?
But John, please, I have to know. What is "doing a Buffoonery...oops, sorry... Barnaby Joyce"??
Lately, if life were treating me any better, I'd be suspicious of it's motives!

Did have a lot of fun Mike, ten of us from the club went this time. I took and others using my camera nearly two hundred and fifty photo's. Nick Malonzo took the one's of me with the Billy goat.

Good work Matt,

That first picture looks like your about to show him at the Royal Easter Show...

It's good when you get close.... 8)

Cheers Guy
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is no where as important as being able to place it in the correct spot....!
