Go get 'em, mate! Best of luck to ya.
Lately, if life were treating me any better, I'd be suspicious of it's motives!

Not a good start to our trip one of my companions has just cut his finger pulling a broadhead from the butt. On the plus side I got a bit of practice blood trailing and the doctor at emergency got to practice his sewing. those silver flame broadheads are razor sharp straight out of the box.

Today I just got a , property for Red. deer. In gympie. Qld . You have to treat the property with Care To Kipit .and
At gympie it°s hard at the moment for hunters . Because of pitchers. On News

Re: QLD red deer hunt this week
Hi guys, well the trip is over and unfortunately i did not manage to get a deer on the ground. The hunt started pretty well with a few reds sighted on the first day they were staying pretty quite and it was tough going trying to get close enough for a shot .
Day two was better and we manegaed to get in on a good 4x4 stag at the last minute another stag appeared and i came down with a case of buck fever they winded us and were gone, there was plenty of advice when we got back at camp.
Day three was spent sitting on a wallow, first thing in the morning i spotted a nice pure white fallow buck but coundn't get close enough fo a shot. A bit latter we stalked in on a fallow doe, and managed to shoot four inches over her back.
Day four was cold and wet and off to a new block as soon as we left the vehicle we heard roaring up on the ridge after a hike straight up the hill i was feeling a bit stuffed and then we sighted him a big 6x4 standing in the fog roaring across the valley suddenly i felt ok again. We watched him for a while but he was not going to come our way, and his girls were not going to allow us to get any closer. Eventually he moved his girls off down the hill and we set off in pursuit,we caught up with him about ten minutes latter but as we started our stalk we were busted by a hind and off the ran around the hill. Quickly the guide dragged me over the top of the spur and there he was walking out of the lantana at about twenty five meters and i shot about four inches over his back, anyone see a pattern developing.
Day five was tough going we covered a lot of ground and spotted a couple of stags but could not get in on them my guide for the day put in a lot of effort to get me a deer on the last day but it was not to be.
So that was my first red deer hunt with QLD bowhunting safaris, even though i did not get a stag i still had a great time and will be going again when i get the chance.
If anyone is thinking of trying there luck on red deer i can highly recomend these guys all the giudes are first class and in the tough conditions we had last week they worked extremely hard to get people shot opportunities and the group was really well looked after in camp as well.

Sound like you had an exciting hunt Mick. It's a shame you didn't get a deer but hopefully next time.
