early start for octobers hunt in the kimberly's

#1 Post by toz » Tue Mar 05, 2013 3:50 pm

Most of my friends know that being slack on getting things completed is my forte' so it flies in the face of being me that Gaz and I are already getting prepared fro our trip to the WA in october, We have built a new bow for him its a take down recurve and Ive built in "pig killing" characteristics!!! (its a collar on two foot of leash tied to a peg) hahaha  its early days but the bow shoots well and I will post details as they are measured.]

Good one Toz and Gaz. At least Gary should have plenty of time to practice for the trip so no excuses.

you mean "GENUINE MUSKRAT !!!" the stats are riser made from wood! limbs from wood AND fibreglass and the string is dacron!! oh you mean what type of wood? well its dead of course!(unlike most pigs Gaz shoots at) osage stripes, purple heart and jarrah. tas oak in limbs, tapered 2/1000 p/inch havent measured draw weight yet but I tried for 55lb so it shouldnt be far off that. Gaz has it in his keeping now to finish sanding and give it a lick of paint. He assures me that he will post a pic of the riser after he's done that.Pictured below is the devise that will help gaz nail a pig or two.All he has to do is place the pigs head in the noose and make sure that the stake is hammered securely into the ground assuring him a reasonable chance of hitting one!!!
