Norseman & Greatplains Bows Christened
Hi Guys,
I thought a few may like to have a little look at Nathan and I christening our new bows...
Nathan was sporting a Nick Lintern Osage Selfbow and I was carrying a Greatplains Anniversary Edition...
Nathan managed to take a beautiful one arrow kill on this young nanny... It was his first selfbow shot on game, with the goat going down within 20 meters... What a great start to the morning...
Here are a few pictures leading up to it...
I managed to blood the Greatplains on a nice young billy... It took me about an hour to get into a position for a confidant shot...
Here a few pictures of the of my hunt...
This is a pop hole I managed to crawl through to get close...
This is where I flicked my arrow from... He was feeding just in front of that log...
Obviously this is my broadhead embedded into the log...
As you can see the billy wasn’t going to be too hard to find...
And here is the end result...!
I hope you all enjoyed...!
Cheers Guy...

The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is no where as important as being able to place it in the correct spot....!

Thanks guys for you nice comments...
I have been exclusively been shooting the Huntsman for quite a while now... But when Nathan said he wanted to blood the Osage bow, I thought it would be best if I blooded a new bow too...
Back to shooting the Huntsman again... bring on the rut...!
Cheers Guy

Yeah Steve, no write up as such yet.... I have wanted the anniversary edition ever since they first came out... I just stumbled across this bow on another site and I had to grab it...! It was in new condition and shoots like a dream.... I'll post some pictures up on it soon...!longbow steve wrote:Well done Nathan and Guy!

G'day,
What draw weight is your great plains and what arrows do you shoot with it.
Cheers

Hi Ian,
The bow is 55# @ 28 inches. Which is exactly the bow I would've ordered if I was to buy it new...
The arrows I was using on this hunt were 55-60 German pine shafts and the broadheads were outback traditionals....
Cheers Guy

Re: Norseman & Greatplains Bows Christened
Thanks Jeff . A pig is by far my next goal but as of yet I am not able to stick one. I am able to stalk in close enough and then I get swine fever and shoot low just behind the front leg it has happened three times now , I bet the next time I shoot straight over it's back
