Huntsman Blooded...!

#1 Post by Guy Layton » Tue Dec 11, 2012 8:41 pm

Hi Guys,

I thought a few may like to see the Huntsman’s first kill...!

These pictures were taken some months ago in the dead of winter...!

Although it wasnt snowing... it still was probably the coldest days I have ever hunted, the wind was just cutting me in half...!

The fox was a vixen and the second fox I called for that stand.... The first fox that came in was a beautiful dog and it had the most beautiful coat I had seen in a long while.... but he was on me before I knew it, which left me standing there like a shag on a rock...!

Well the vixen wasn’t that lucky.... she chose the same path as her mate and I wasn’t going to be left standing there hopeless again... the rest was history...! 8)

Cheers Guy..

The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is no where as important as being able to place it in the correct spot....!

Well done Guy! Did you go out intentionally chasing Fox in winter? Do you get many coming in at that time of year compared to summer? The bow looks awesome. Cheers Steve

Hi Steve,

No mate, the intention on that day was to chase a big boar I been seeing... I managed to get close to a few nice billys that morning, but a stupid bush obscured a perfect 10m shot on one... then he busted me... :x
I managed to whistle up 7 foxes that morning... I missed a shot 10m broadside shot on another dog fox, with the rest not offering a shot.... As you would know, hunting foxes by yourself is a hard task... but bloody rewarding when you deck one solo...
I was surprised to whisle up that many foxes that day.. I think the inherant weather kept them out a bit longer...

Cheers Guy
