Western Hunt
Lewis and I just got back from a trip to Barcaldine and Longreach.
We had a great time and seen some great country. It was dam hot and made looking for anything a hard slog.
Seen a lot of small pig’s and I mean small, I have seen bigger rabbits then some of the pig’s.
Some of the hills at Longreach. A sunset. Went for a walk up a dry creek on Tuesday, walked into the wind for a few K’s and the day was getting very hot so we turned around to go back to the ute, had the wind at our backs and were not all that quite as we had not long been past this point when I saw a pig having a sleep in the creek bed. I pulled an arrow out and took aim and let go. The pig jumped up, turned and look straight at us, we just froze and the pig turned and ran the other way. I did not see an arrow in him but I was sure I had hit him, he ran for about 12 feet stoped and went down. This was my first pig and I had hit him just behind the front leg for a quick kill. This made our day to get a pig, with a well placed arrow.

Your Arrow shows quite a bit about your adventure!
That's a beautiful crimson stain, and a snap where it would have exited when the pig realized what had happened!
How good is that

Re: Western Hunt
Well done and congratulations, a very very nice looking trophy. It's a vast area out there. A few years ago a mate of mine and I, made friends with a bloke that lived in Barcaldine (he was the local fire Warden at the time) and the places he took us to hunt, well I loved every minute of it. The jump ups gave us a good view as to what was about, if you looked hard enough. Again well done......

Hey, well done eddie!
But why didn't you let lewis take the first pig??
I thought it was his 'schoolies' trip. ha
That pig trumps my latest effort.
Mine only has 10mm of tusk sticking out.
Well done again.
Cheers,
Justin

The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is no where as important as being able to place it in the correct spot....!
