who took the pics and with what cameras?
Rod what are the specs on that recurve mate?

The pictures I took were taken with either a Canon 5d with a canon 24-105 lens, or with the Canon 40d with a Tamron 18-270 lens.
As for the bows.
The Gringa mistress is 53 @ 28. She is one of Rod's deflex reflex designs.
The Gringa Red Belly black is 60 @ 28. One of Rod's hill style designs.
The Stikbow Samber stick is 53 @ 28. One of Jeff's (stikbows) hill style design.

Shafts I used, the pretty crested ones early in the trip were Douglas fur, hand crafted by Wallace woods for me & crested & finished by myself. They were tipped with 145 grain Tusker concordes. With an over all weight of 730-750 grains.

The shafts with the chanteuse & purple feathers were either tulip oak hand planned by me, or towards the last day or so they were Oregan shafts off the shelf from tradbits.
Both tulip oak & Oregan were sporting 190 grain ribteks up front & were most likely assembled by Jeff as he does a better & quicker job than me
Tulip oak finished weight was in around 750-770 grains & the Oregan weighed in at 730-760 grains.

I had to try hard but I think the smiles are an improvement.

Most of our camera gear was Canon. I was using a 40D with a 17-40 f4 L lens. The photos of me with game were taken with that combo by Gary. I also took the meal photos and the last photo in Gary's posts of Craig with his white nanny. Craig used my Canon G9 point & shoot camera. I took the photos of Gary with his big billy and his first good boar with his 40D.

My bow was one of my longbows. It was 59# @ 26.5" and had bamboo lams. The bow I shot my first sow with was the 'GRINGA' bow Rod made me. It was 60# @ 26" and had caramelised bamboo lams.

The arras I used this time were made from bamboo shafts from the ebay fella in China. To up their weight to around the 750 grain mark that I usually shoot I used a 190 grain field point and put a 5 degree taper on it so it fitted my 190 Ribtek broadheads. This gave me 315 grains up front with a FOC of 15.25%. They flew nice and proved to be very tough.

My bow is "Milestone", a 64#@28" "Hill-style" Gringa (of course! ) and my arras are the same bamboo shafts Jeff used, but using 145grn & 190grn Ribbies( I also had some of the same shafts with 160grn Blackstumps, but didn't end up using them). I like these bamboo shafts a lot, they are very tough indeed, but I will be employing Jeffs technique of tapering field points and gluing ribbies onto them for added weight on my next hunt, they are just a tad light.
I like using Jeffs G9. I'm no photographer yet even I can turn out a decent shot with it.
Lately, if life were treating me any better, I'd be suspicious of it's motives!

Snore? Jeff snoring is one thing( one big, loud, thing!) but the big fella decided he was gonna camp in my room out there, and I lasted about 3 hours before I had to find alternative sleeping arrangements! At one stage I even yelled at him! :surprised: True story!

I don't know what a 'Hobbit' is but I guess you would mean something derogatory like it is short, fat and has no neck.
