Re: blunt or broadhead?
Both would work from a 60# bow however I have had a fox at 5 meters broadside coming out of a Blackberry bush wiping sleep from his eyes and I had a quiver full of blunts. That was the last time I used them. Steve
Re: blunt or broadhead?
I've used both on rabbits but blants are the beast, IMO, but have 2 or 3 broad heads in the quiver.
I like the Judo blants.

Re: blunt or broadhead?
Hey Jesse, I like to use rubber blunts and judo heads on bunnys. I found broadheads do a great job but the blood wrecks my feathers, and the other two tend to last longer.

Hey Jesse, I like the blunts for that impact stoping power on the bunnies and they don't get burried in the grass as easy as a broadhead.

Re: blunt or broadhead?
Because of my should injury, I make and use these home made blunts. I shoot no further than 40 yards out of 45#, I grind a bit off the washers to loose some weight or melt some lead/solder inside to make up the weight to match my broadheads. Cheap, cheap...........Bill

Re: blunt or broadhead?
I have quite a few of Bills blunts, they are indeed the goods!
Lately, if life were treating me any better, I'd be suspicious of it's motives!
Re: blunt or broadhead?
Hi Jesse1987, I have used .38 and .357 shells.
I did make about 50 for a mate out of 9mm, for the size and weight fitted the bill for him.
Yes Moreton, I do remember trading you a few, (I hope they lived up to your expectations) so how's it all going, been following your adventures, well done.

Howdy Jesse, I believe you need the shock factor with also some rip tear. Off late I have been using VPA small game points, they are available in a lot of weight variations. I use the 150g with my 400 spine Goldtip trads, 120g brass inserts with 2" of 2219 footing. This combo is awesome, I can shoot just about anything with out shaft failures. I have found this combo to be the toughest I have used. I also use these heads out of my 72lb Mathews compound and they are quiet at high speed.
Bill great idea with the washers on the shells. I also use some shells on timbers, I nock the primers out and screw a self tapper down through the primer pocket, then put a dob of araldite in there. To bring the weight up a tad more I then drill a couple of holes through the case and bang a couple of roll pins through. All that is required then is a bit of hot melt for the glue on. I have found you get a lot of bunny roll overs with out some form of rip tear modification.
Over the last 22 years I have used just about every combo, commercial and home made. You need shock, rip and tear.
Cheers Macca.

Re: blunt or broadhead?
Broadheads will rip a bunny to pieces. That's fine if you don't want to eat it. Bunnies make great eating, so I prefer to hit them with a blunt. I use Outback SGB's and they do a great job!
