High country Hunt ... Interested ?

#1 Post by wishsong » Wed Feb 01, 2012 12:55 pm

I was thinking a getting a bunch together for a bit of a high country jaunt over winter down here in Vic for a few days ?
Chase a few Sambar around , have a big fire , tell convoluted and verbose hunting stories about the one that got away , complain about the cold, stump shoot ?

A few of us are already going but I thought I'd extend the invite .......

Sounds like a great time is planned mate but high country and winter does sound very cold to a Queenslander. I think my travel dollars for hunting trips etc has already been allocated for this year I'm afraid. I'm sure it will be a great time for those who can make it.

Shooters get to 50m to shoot, but only a hunter gets inside 20m to hunt.

Its funny , on the otherside of melbourne from the High Country [ Central Highlands ] where i reside a fair bit we might get a couple of dumps a year ... the tourists love it ... I just thinks its uber cold !

But up in the high country , it is quite spectacular ...
Ya coming Rod ? You know you want to ...

I could be interested wishsong. Whereabouts are you heading, roughly? Do you have the dates sorted out yet?
There is no use focusing on aiming if you don't execute the shot well enough to hit what your are aiming at.

Hey Mick .. how are ya mate ? Be great to catch up ...

I was thinking somewhere near Jamison maybe but would look to set up away from the doggers so that might determine where

Yeah Ben, it's been too long. I'm good mate.

Somewhere where the doggers can't go sounds good.

I'm interested, but can't quite make a full commitment yet, got a fair bit on the plate this year but might be able to squeeze a few days in. Dates and a location would go a long way in helping make a decision. Hope this works out, sounds like a of fun!
