Quick weekend trip

#1 Post by longbow steve » Mon Jan 09, 2012 5:25 pm

Tex and I headed out on the bikes to check out a new trout river and State forest this weekend. No fish or game down so we had to eat tinned food but had a good time non the less. Here are some pics of the action.

We watched some trout in the stream and flicked a lure about but had no luck. Next time I will try a fly

We got a bit of rain over night and into the morning so the roads got a bit greasy

Bit hard to carry a winch and/or a chain saw on a bike, eh?
I bet you still took your mini coffee machine and your fold up bed. Tough life mate but I suppose someone has to do it.

Thanks for the storey....but when you told us about the size of the girth of the tree when you called in to the club you made it sound much bigger.....love your Evil Keneval ramp.

Looked like it was a good way to spend a couple of days even if ya didn't get any game or fish. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Jeff
There was a lot of evidence that people have been at the water hole.Empty beer cans, bottles and tire tracks.

Hey Steve the Triumph photo you posted looks awesome. I didn't see one with the black rims if I did I would have grabbed it. I think I will need the rack for sure.
Thanks for a great weekend and use of your bike. I can't wait to do it again. But I don't want to get my new bike dirty.

Yes to the coffee machine but an ultra light version called a Java Drip

The sign for the hole wasn't there. There was rubbish as Tex said but no one has been there since the tree has come down I reckon.

Not far wrong, The Cowmung is on my list. Also Yeranderie at the back of Waragamba I want to do soon. When you start looking at Google earth there are so many places you can go on a bike up here.

Steve i got the bike today. Nice to ride on the black stuff. Will be interesting off road. Not as easy with throttle as your 250 pretty touchy. I would have come up today to show you but I had a long night at work Friday , started at 7 am and finished at 1.30 in the morning, I need to get out of that job.
Can,t wait till we go out on another adventure.
Have you thought of a destination?

I am doing Clarence to Hill End via Sunny Corner-Sofala-Bridle Track next month but on the little bike. I dont know, I suppose you need to decide if you are happy to go off road  .
The fossicking area is in the middle of a State Forest and we could do Dingo Dell/Kowmung river fire trail like Kieth suggested? Steve
