Bit of a break

#1 Post by wal » Mon Jun 06, 2011 3:08 pm

Decided it was time for a bit of R&R from work so I had a few weeks off, no massive adventures just mostly fly fishing the local streams, quail shooting and chasing foxes with the recurve, sadly no glory shots with the recurve, love chasing foxes with the bow but don't often win, still all in all I had more fun than if I'd had a trip to Disneyland.

Some slack photo's off the mobile....now that I'm back at work, with a little spare time :D

I do love the colours in wild fish

Young fella's first feel of one on a fly (I'd cast and hand it to him to retrieve)

Reddies don't get put back....YUM!!

Few feeds of quail and duck

This vixen was one of the biggest I have shot (rifle) in many many years, head on it like a hereford, would have loved it with the bow.

Looks like you had some good R & R mate with the added bonus of getting some great tucker. I'm sure the boys enjoyed their time out with you also - good onya!!! :D

Top work there Wal, can appreciate the effort on the fly with the trout, hopefully heading out this weekend for some, what fly are you using there, ?

shot a fox years ago with the rifle, about as big as a kelpie, damned if i ever saw one like that when i had a bow in hand,
Thanks for the pictures,

some inspiration :D

Great browns there Wal, fishing those small streams would have been challenging for shore. Good to see a few quail for the pot as well cant really beat that with the kids and holidays.

Looks like a great break Wal, the look on the lads faces says it all. Good work on getting them away to experience it, and nice fish too, I reckon you all had a good feed to remember!

Cheers........ Rod
