Trad Fox Double
Hey, I thought I'd share a sweet achievement of mine, my first trad fox double.. First fella came in fast and took a shaft from 8m, just as I was packing up to grab my fox I noticed another coming in from my right.. I missed him at 12m and kissed him back to 25m as he circled me and with a solid anchor the arrow hit it's mark behind the shoulder (on the run mind you).. Absolutely stoked I moved up and whistled from a new stand and within 2min another red dog approached from the left, at 5m I shot low. Disappointed I grabbed my shaft and it was sticky... Blood!! After a lengthy blood trail I found him piled up in a log, the razor sharp BH rotated just at the right time slicing the bottom of his chest without entering his cavity.. Lucky I know but stoked to have 3 on the deck within 20min.. I highly respect trad bowhunters who have taken foxes, very underrated trophy..

My word, that is truly remarkable! You're on fire, Jack!
Lately, if life were treating me any better, I'd be suspicious of it's motives!

Re: Trad Fox Double
Hey Jack,
Great job mate...
Your right mate... Very underrated species with the trad bow... Any animal that comes in at speed and generally forces a hurried shot with a trad bow is a highly regarded trophy... especially when your the shooter and whistler...
By the way mate... I checked out you DVD " TRADITIONAL ADDICTION " What a great job you have done... Well done indeed...! I cant wait for the next one now...
Cheers Guy

The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is no where as important as being able to place it in the correct spot....!
Re: Trad Fox Double
Congratulations to you Jack and to matt61. From my part, whistling foxes with traditional archery gear is ultimate hunting.

Re: Trad Fox Double
Sweeeeeet, only ever done that once, years ago but with wheels.
Shows you what a razor sharp broadhead can do with that low shot.
I'm looking forward to when it starts warming up and they start responding to the whistle again. Not long.....
Good job

Re: Trad Fox Double
Foxes can be taken with any poundage, from even 30#. so best thing to do is get a curve that can easily be drawn and held if need be, i have just had a bow built thats design just for foxes and that will be around 58# @ my draw length and will be using about a 55g arrow. they say the wider the better like Captains Azteks or ribteks but any broadhead will do the job.

Unreal! Awesome!
It's the great, big, broad land 'way up yonder,
It's the forests where silence has lease;
It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder,
It's the stillness that fills me with peace.
