Morning All.
I am always impressed how good the archers shooting Yabusame are.
But even they have a bad day it would seem:

Hi Kim.
Yep. They seem to shoot better off the slower horse. Interesting to see that they do not always get it perfect. I am still impressed that they can ride the horse and get away any sort of shot.kimall wrote:I see the secret is to have a really slow horse..

I like the little bowing robots that pick up the wayward arras.

Grahame , i have a horse who was 'bow broke ' a few years ago ... and I am re introducing to it again slowly ... at the canter is easier than at the trot I think from prev experience ... either way to get those arrows off that quick those guys and girls are doing well .

Morning.
Have a look at 2:40 on at these guys in action and note how fast that horse is moving. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWQaJLPKaK8
Whilst on the topic - I have posted this before. This really impresses me as a way to promote something. Here we have a single target event where the course has been laid at the steps of a temple in the middle of a city and the spectators only a metre or so away from the full gallop Horse and a chap with a bow. What are the chance of getting something like this up in Brisbane? ROFL.

The Archers in Yabusame always interest me. Most of the video that is shown has them at full gallop with the best standing in the stirrups (and a different type of stirrup they are). They draw an arrow (and not just a normal arrow), nock it, shoot it and hit the target. Sounds easy - but I would suggest it is a lot harder than it looks.wishsong wrote:Grahame , i have a horse who was 'bow broke ' a few years ago ... and I am re introducing to it again slowly ... at the canter is easier than at the trot I think from prev experience ... either way to get those arrows off that quick those guys and girls are doing well .

Grahame I guess the nearest thing to a temple in Briz.would be Lang Park, oops, Suncorp . I haven't been there to a league game for donkeys but if he's still going around maybe someone on this forum could ride Buck and shoot arrows at the refs at half time.
