Yamaha / Nishizawa Bows.

#1 Post by GrahameA » Thu Nov 25, 2010 6:07 am

Morning All.

This is an oldish film clip - it is all about Olympic Archery. It concerns the production and use of Nishizawa and Yamaha Olympic Recurves.

For those who are interested in building bows observe how the Yamaha risers were cold forged - one single pressing. Impressive. There are a some shots of Nishizawa limbs being manufactured - all hand made. Note that that lay-up is the width of a couple of limbs. A matched pair of limbs cut from a single lay-up?

For the Recurve shooters check out Sebastian Flute (Gold 1992) and Hiroshi Yamamoto (Bronze 84, Silver 2004).
