Just recived his latest DVD, being new to Archery and Tradtional archery I thought I needed some help and I have found the DVD quite good, haven't had much chance to testing his instructions, the DVD arrived just B4 I joined a ship for 4 weeks.
He shoots 3 under but states that it doesen't matter what your release is using his method will make you shoot better, approx 1/3 of the DVD is about his school and students comments

This dude is the best shot with a bare recurve I've seen.

Hi, I have just arrived back on land and internet connections, I will write a review of the DVD once I get sorted and post it under reviews, I haven't had a chance to follow his instructions and try his way of shooting so I'll give it a try and let you know if it helps me hitting what I'm looking at :D .

Sorry in the delay in getting some feedback out in regards to the DVD, I have now had quite a few sessions on the archery range trying to implement Ricky's teaching, being new to Archery I started from scratch and can now group fairly well between 20 & 30 m range, I have started shooting 3 finger under and it seems to be working for me, but that is not a requirement any release method can be used with his style of teaching, I like his way of teaching instinct shooting, just shoot one arrow, retrive it and go to a different spot and get yourself lined up for the next shot, I use a golf ball that I throw different distance from the target then go to it and take the shot, not always with good result but then I'm still very new.
What I need now is for someone to check my stance, release, posture etc the DVD can't help you there, all in all I'm quite happy with the DVD I ordered it from his website https://www.dakotabows.com and it arrived here approx a week later, if anyone want more information please feel free to send me a PM

Rick Welch has won more 3D tournaments and killed more animals with GOLD TIP arrows, than any other. Exceptional flight, extreme durability, and exacting uniformity are the reasons why GOLD TIP is Rick's first choice in carbon arrows.
Sacrilege, he should be excommunicated for this blasphemy

Is it "blasphemy"? He has not spoken against the doctrine rather he has used something that is not part of the doctrine. I was under the opinion that blasphemy was the act of "speaking/saying something that was against the doctrine". What do you call an action? :D

4. irreverent behavior toward anything held sacred, priceless, etc.: He uttered blasphemies against life itself.
pretty much illustrates my point ;)

He has behaved irreverently - or at least I do not think he has - he has just shot other arrows, lots of people do. (Could be a different story if he was shooting Penonbscot.)

He has not uttered any thing - someone else said the words. :D

And alluminium arrows where in common use decades before fibreglass bow laminations came into mass production 8) . Yet fibreglass laminations is regarded as a Traditional and not sacriligeous to shoot and alloy's are:roll: don't see the issue, good hearted ribbing intended :D with carbon arrow's 3 fingers under, gap shootin or much else we do today with our modern bows

it was meant to be a bit 'tongue-in-cheek' Perry as I was recently savaged by a group of 'we the undersigned' Puritans over the introduction of more liberal arrow regulations in regular 3D tournaments.

Evening All

As a a result of his recent actions he has returned to shooting other "bows". This is the culprit today being drowned by the "Traditional" Qld Rain.

Just wondering if any of Rick's student ever beaten him in a competition? if so, then paying $400+ for his class might be worth it :D
