help please,
right, now that I have seen the light and gone trad I need some arrows to suit.
The bow is a Raven Vanquish TD 59# at 27". I really want to shoot carbons and I have a heap of 130gn blackstumps that I want to shoot. If anyone shoots carbons out of something similar I would love to know what your setup is ie - total weight, point weight, FOC, arrow length etc
I intend to shoot instinctive so arrow length should not be a drama.
I cant afford to buy a heap of different arrows just to find out what suits so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: help please,
If I was shooting carbons, which is very rare these days, I'd shoot Carbon Express Heritage 250's out of your raven. Point weight and length is up to you, but they are 11grn per inch of shaft. http://www.carbonexpressarrows.com/cms/node/75
Lately, if life were treating me any better, I'd be suspicious of it's motives!
Re: help please,
Same arrows as Moreton said but I would go the 350,s and load the point weight up to get high FOC.
Something as centre cut as that bow can easy handle the stiffer shaft.
Cheers KIM

Re: help please,
I bought 2 dozen of the heritage 350,s and now im just using them up as hunting arrows mate.I found them to be too heavy but thats just me.
I reckon gold tip 55\75,s are awesome .You can load up with weight at the front if you want or put some tube down the guts. They go excellent with a 50gn brass insert and a 175gn black stump. The total ends up about 550gn
The thing is you can put weight on but you cant take it off.A heavy shaft is a heavy shaft.
the gold tips fly perfect for me.Ive had the hunter model and the traditionals they have the same characteristics.

Re: help please,
Yer good point Jeffro sorry I jumped to the conclusion it was for hunting and did not even ask.If it for field work or 3d or similiar mabey try a lighter shaft. For hunting though I have found the heritage a tuffer shaft then the gold tips.Just what I have found.

Re: help please,
Yer right Kim they do go they go allright for hunting.Im not a big fan of brown shafts for hunting cause I reckon there a bit harder to find and also I seem to be able to see a black shaft better in the peripheral vision when your aiming.
Re: help please,
thanks for the help fellas, I had a dig around and found a few 55/75 gold tip hunters and some 4000 black hawk vapors so ill fletch them up and see how they go. Gonna order a few different weight inserts and adapters and see how they go as well.
I'm not too fussed on what color they are but I reckon the brown ones would be a bit harder to find.
thanks again for the help

Re: help please,
Nah, they're everywhere! Most archery dealers carry them and you'll get them anywhere between $80 and $125 per dozenandy80 wrote:

Hi Andy
The first thing I would do is confirm what draw weight you are actually pulling with the bow and then
select a carbon shaft based on that.I shoot with Goldtips.
Cheers
