Masters of the Barebow Vol. 4

#1 Post by Chase N. Nocks » Thu Apr 14, 2011 1:44 pm

The 4th and supposedly final installment of this excellent series is apparently in the stages of final editing.

Amongst the speakers presented will be Jay Kidwell the author of "Instinctive Archery Insights" one of the very best books on the subject and one of the most readable and affordable archery books period.

The MBB series has been fantastic IMO and has become one of the most useful archery tools I recommend to a new comer.

Hopefully the wait won't be too long.

Cheers

That's awesome to hear. Especially if Mr. Kidwell is going to contribute.
Anyone who has or has had target panic needs to read this book. You will be cured.

I still need to see number 3.

Agree on all points there Tom.

Definitely get Vol 3 and check it out. They have all been great but Vol 3 regularly gets touted as the best of all.

A LOT of time is spent with Rod Jenkins.

The Masters DVDs have definitely helped me shoot better and enjoy archery more. I'm lookin'-forward to the fourth!
It's the great, big, broad land 'way up yonder,
It's the forests where silence has lease;
It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder,
It's the stillness that fills me with peace.

Hey Ben, slightly off subject but I was watching the Black Widow DVD the other night (being a new Widow owner, well actually a born again Widow owner, as I bought a metal handle takedown in the early 80's and sold it only a few years ago to Axe)...anyway I see you pop up in the gallery of the DVD and I'm thinking to myself "Bloody Ben, pops up more often the Chuck Adams, maybe he should run for IBO Pacific Branch President..I'll join mate   "

I have been extremely impressed by my new (2nd hand) PSR-X. I shot it the other night at the FITA indoor and even though my shooting was poor to average I was smitten. This bow did not forgive my terrible release at all..but that is what I want at the moment and I know it will make me improve my shooting out of sight and I also know that when I get my form sorted out this bow will not let me down. It will make me a better archer because it made me realize that every failing was my own. Beautiful bow!!!

I understand why people are devoted to Black Widow bows and I will say to the critics...look past the price. From what I have seen, and maybe I have been sucked in, but this archery company live their product and treat their customers how they would like to be treated. The accessories are top shelf and well made...eg strings with silencers etc. 5 year warrenty and free refinishing or even repairs when your bow starts to look worse for wear. I think these things are all value adding to their brand...and I think accusations that they produce factory bows is simply wrong, they offer as many options for customisation as any other custom bow maker..another loyal widower enters the ranks.

Oh, it was on the Widow Wall that I spotted the story about MBB4.

G'day Troy,

I think the pictures on the BW DVD are of my first two pigs. The funny thing was that they were killed with really heavy arrows, possibly 1200 grains, from memory.

Cheers,

Ben

I learned my lesson shortly after that, and started using light arrows - 704 grains.

Nor should you bloke, they got approx 30 years on traditional Fibreglass lams    [ We need a "Stirring emoticom" ]

We have got to organise a catch up Troy, I need reminding how much our Lovely Ladies appreciate us hogging the Big Screen talking Archery and Boobs. I'd like to see Volume 4
