WTB Vario Feather Clipper!!!

#1 Post by Stickbow Hunter » Sat Feb 28, 2009 2:23 pm

Wanting to buy a Vario Feather Clipper (Chopper). It doesn't matter what blade it has with it. Also any spare parts or blades.

Thanks

Yeah mate that is a shield cut and you can buy them but I prefer to cut my own. I like the shape of the cutter ones better and I also like a high profile fletch so I cut mine higher than the bought ones.

First time I've seen one of these feather clippers Jeff.
I think I can make these without much trouble.
Give me a week and I'll let you know how I go.

The idea is to produce a clipper with various cutters. It will come as a kit with replacement blades included. I will post pictures of the completed unit. Once I have a few units circulated around for testing I will make them available.

Coach I have sent you a pm. More than happy for you to try one of the prototypes. I will pm you when they are available.
I will check why I don't have a pm button.

For General information:
Eternal Archery in Germany no longer supplies/makes the Vario cutter. Seems to have ceased business.
Had an order (not supplied) since March 2008 with Eternal Archery. The Longbow shop also stocked the Vario but had the problem of no stock.
The only other dealer I know that has some stock is based in Canada.(check with Herb Haines Archery-herbsarchery.com).
Only other cutters on the market currently - Little Chopper out of USA.
Possible feathers cutters- our local Australiian made refer to earlier posting.
A new large cutter from Bearpaw (in design stage) .
Regards

John

G'day Matt,

It is a real shame that such an excellent product is no longer made. On the bright side we have a great home grown product available soon. :D

Got a 5DII yet?

geeze, that sucks. I need some new strips that hold the quill in place :?

Nah Jeff, finances don't allow such purchases these days. We're still tryin' to figure out how to pay for our weddin' in spring..... didn't realise it'd cost that much to get a spit roast, marinaded wombat and a few cold ones!

Mate you need to contact those TRASH blokes, they will take care of the caterin' for ya at a fraction of the cost.

Yeah, things have been pretty tight around here also but the 40D is going fine and I have been very happy with the blow ups people have had done from some of the wedding photos we have taken. A wide angle lens would be handy with the 40D being a crop camera and a longish zoom also and a...........
