Bowhunting and Archery Book Set (SOLD)

#1 Post by Stickbow Hunter » Tue Feb 15, 2005 6:10 pm

I have a complete 29 volume set of "Legends of the Longbow". They are leather bound, gold gilded and are all individually numbered and signed by Glenn St Charles. These sets are collector items.

This set includes many of the greatest Bowhunting and Archery books ever printed with titles from, Saxon Pope, Maurice Thompson, Howard Hill, Bob Swinehart, etc.

I have attached a photo of an advertisement for them back when they were still available many years ago now. It says 24 volume in the add but the set was extended to 29.

My set is mint condition and I am asking $1,800.00 which is less than cost price. Price does not include shipping. Some single titles from broken sets (sets that people didn’t collect all titles) have sold for hundreds of dollars each.

I am selling them at this price to hopefully sell them quickly. One of the main reasons I am selling them is that Jude and I have been married for 25 years in May and some of the money from the set would allow me to get her something special – without her knowing.

For further info please contact me here via private message or email me direct or telephone 07 4123 3439.

Thanks

Jeff

Oh boy, oh boy...

Would it be worth having the wife kill you if you at least got to read and hold at least some of these beauties first

Very tempting,

Okay, my resistance has been broken: where do I send the cheque  :D

Seriously, have a really great anniversary, Jeff & Judy. Hope my contribution helps

Funny: I left the printed out thread where Karen would see it (to tease her, honestly) and all she could say was "they're such beautiful books, of course you should buy them!" What a wife :P

Talk soon Jeff,

Erron

Erron,

Thank you very much. You sure have some reading ahead of you so you will just have to make sure you make the time to do so. I know the books are going to a good home and to someone who will appreciate them.

Jude knows I was selling the books but doesn't know what I plan on doing with some of the money so let's keep it quiet until after the end of May. She thinks the money was going into a new aviary that I want to build.

Thanks once again.

Jeff
