64"AMO RH 50#@28" Bear Montana Longbow $350

#1 Post by Sabinus » Tue Sep 22, 2015 4:50 pm

For Sale - 64" 50#@28" RH Bear Montana longbow.
Has shot approximately 500 arrows. Practically as new.
Smooth drawing and very quiet to shoot.
I've removed the infamously cheap handgrip and the arrow rest/ strike plate as well. Have replaced the arrow rest/ strike plate with fluffy velcro and left the grip area as bare wood. I have found this is really functional and looks better as well.
Am only selling as I purchased this one in the wrong draw weight, and will be putting the proceeds of this sale towards something heavier.
now $350 plus freight.
Will post photos soon.

Very pleased to hear it Ron!

Out of interest (and my ongoing archery education), what arrows are you shooting, and what brace height have you settled on?

Again, I'm stoked you are happy.

Hi Darren, I have made a new D97 14 strand endless loop string and settled on just over 71/2" brace height after listening to string noise and feedback of vibration of the bow.
Arrows are European Spruce at 50 -55# spine, 4" Traditional shaped feathers, 125gr Tophat screw on brass points and bare shafted to tune to bow.

When I get more time I will make a 12 or 15 strand flemish string that will be the preferred string for the bow.

I cant put it down, I am putting 50+ arrows through it almost daily. My mate missed out badly, though I might let him have a shot, that will really **** him off (ha ha).

Thanks again, Ron
