If it's a Grizzly it will almost certainly be 58'' long, not 52''. I've never heard of a 52'' Grizzly before. Are you sure it's not a Bear Kodiak Magnum, which are 52'' long?
Good luck with the sale though.

very interesting, as I hadn't taken too close a look at it I just ran a tape over it, it's unstrung at present and measures 52 3/4 " ntn it has the bear grizzly logo on the top limb I stand to be corrected though Mick.it also has a Bear serial number of GR 08056, thanks for the interest Mick, Kerry

It will be a Grizzly alright and it will be the usual 58'' AMO one too. I think you will find that if you measure the length of the bow by following the contours of the limbs, plus the riser, you will get a length of 58''.

Re: Bear Grizzly 70lb. R.H.
ok thanx Mick, maybe the 52" refers to string length ?

Does it have 52'' AMO written on it Kerry? I assumed that you measured it.

Re: Bear Grizzly 70lb. R.H.
yes it does Mick ,I did measure it as you suggested and it reads 58" ! now the draw weight may not be correct either, apparently the grizzly was never made in 70lb. .i'll get the owner to bring his bow scale over and check then relist the bow with the correct specs, lesson to be learnt .never take anything at face value.

Maybe the guy who writes the specs on the bows at the Bear Factory was drunk that day.

This is intriguing Kerry. Could you take a photo of the markings, and the whole bow too if you get a chance?

Re: Bear Grizzly 70lb. R.H.
strung it yesterday, it is 70#, it appears bear did make some heavier poundage bows, another mate knows of an 80# grizzly

Re: Bear Grizzly 70lb. R.H.
It's peculiar that it says 52". Is it possible that the '2' is a really badly written '8'? Anyway, they're a beautiful bow. Hope it sells soon

Maybe he was drunk another day as well or maybe all the time...I bought a Kodiak Mag few years ago it was also marked with the incorrect specsMick Smith wrote:Maybe the guy who writes the specs on the bows at the Bear Factory was drunk that day.

Re: Bear Grizzly 70lb. R.H.
It would appear to me that the bow has been refinished as the bear factory always puts the specs on the bottom of the riser
in black.
It do's look to be a 1970's vintage(from the raised medallion)& the wood stained used.
The bear picture on the bottom limb is the factory logo,on the top limb should have bear glass powered Grissly
Grissly's from 60's onwards are 58" amo except for the 1969 models that are 56"
Standard poundages where to 65# but there are heavier ones around
