Want to buy 2 Fixed blade knives with sheaths

Fixed blade knives with sheaths

Would like to get my 2 boys, a knife each for Christmas. Nothing flash just something to learn to use, maintain and sharpen (under supervision of course). Does anyone have something in their collections that they'd be willing to sell?

You could do a whole lot worse than to have a chat with Sean, Paul...http://www.ozbow.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=14241

Thanks Moreton - but quality gear like that is on MY Christmas list!!! Given that my boys are only young fellas, I figure I'll get them a "knock around" this time and better quality when they're a bit older.

Have you looked at the Mora range of knives?
Decent knives at a fair price.
Common sense; so rare it should be considered a superpower.

^ BushcraftOz store, run by a good friend Blake, out of Mudgee NSW check out the rest of his store if you get a chance.

Here are Some of the various Styles of Mora Knives that are out there, Made in Sweden By Frosts Mora of Sweden.

Great high carbon Steel or Stainless steel knives that when treated write will last a life time. I personally have a Mora Classic 1. Had it for 5yrs. Barely needs sharpening as it holds a great edge, A breeze to sharpen light weight and Robust enough to carve, dig out arrows/ etc with.

And for around the $20 mark, In my book a perfect starter knife.

Mora mora mora!

I recommend the 510 model. The sheaths are functional but you could show the lads how to make a nice leather one and it'd be the only knife they ever need in life.

Can't speak highly enough of it. Used it during a house renovation, cut plasterboard and god knows what else. It was covered in glue and plaster and what not. Took 10 minutes to get it clean and scary sharp. Not ad for 10 bucks. And it holds an edge

Dunno about you Paul, but I'm a bit old school, something about these I love, could be ogling them in the old outdoors mag as a kid 35 years ago.

Thanks Nephew  , schrade knives aren't what they used to be either, outsourced to china now and have heard a lot of bad feedback about them. which is very disappointing. American made schrade knives are very sought after now.
