Tablelands Nt Qld
Went away for easter with the misses R&R and one of my favourite places up here in the north around Malanda. Took some great photos considering it rained the whole time we were there.
Was lucky enough to catch a young tree kangaroo waking up in the morning but he was so far up in the canopy coudnt hold the camera steady enough at full zoom.
A giant fig tree and a few of the garden at the B&B we stayed at.
The weekend wasnt a loss as there is a new wood centre at Tolga which I managed to pick up some blood wood 2''x2'' x 22'' for my next longbow riser project.
Cheers enjoy Wayno.

Nice photos Wayno. I would like to see one of those tree kangaroos in the wild. Have you got a photo of that Bloodwood?

Hi Wayno, you sure have taken some top quality photo's.
The pictures of the tree kangaroo facing forward and back are so good (they all are) you could use them for the facing page and back page of a greeting card the flowers would make great posters. Again top shelf pictures, well done................Bill

great shots. i used to see a heap of those tree kangas out just west of dimbula. they are fun to watch when out and about and active.
re: the bloodwood. i have had it fail a number of times on tip overlays so perhaps avoid using it there. had no dramas as a riser wood though. and it gives some beautiful colours.

Thanks for that warning ottis I will only use it on the risers. It is nice and heavy though so it should do well in the weight of the bow.
A photo for you Jeff I wyped it over with a damp cloth first to show the real colour better.
The other photo is a heat board for the kitchen table the misses brought which had some of the local timbers that are available in the tablelands.
Cheers Wayno

Thanks, Wayno. They're good photos.
It's the great, big, broad land 'way up yonder,
It's the forests where silence has lease;
It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder,
It's the stillness that fills me with peace.
