red deer
Hi All
Way back in 2000, my husband shot his first deer, a big Red at coolah. (with a compound at the time) Many have heard about it but have never seen it.
He finally decided to get it mounted, so we took it to Pedro Lever but sadly he passed away & Kev Daley took over.
It was on display at the Archery Hall of Fame Expo held in Liverpool a few weeks ago.
Here it is completed. It measured 311 & 2/8
Thanks Kev, a great job.

Jeff, you need to get out of Qld, come South & vist us
Don't worry Steve, you may get your chance to see it up close as I am hoping to have it on display at the Gathering this year, which isn't all that far away.

Re: red deer
A lovely animal! Well-done.
It's the great, big, broad land 'way up yonder,
It's the forests where silence has lease;
It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder,
It's the stillness that fills me with peace.

Morning All
At last year's Gathering, we had Trophy Takers re-measure the Antlers.
The final measurement came to 323 & 4/8.....11 x 13.......24 pointer.
We were impressed.
Jeff, you will enjoy our part of the country, especially in the Hunter Valley.
Steve, I'm sure your misses will let you come to the Gathering, bring her along, we could put her to work in the canteen along with our other lovely volunteer's

Re: red deer
Well done Keith on your fine trophy... I would love to see such a beautiful animal in the wild, let alone have the opportunity to harvest one...!
Well done again mate...!
Kev does exceptional taxidermy work, I have two head mounts from him myself and they are second to none...!
Well done Kev...!
Cheers Guy...

The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is no where as important as being able to place it in the correct spot....!
