A Walk Around Nth Albert

#1 Post by GrahameA » Sun Feb 01, 2009 4:12 pm

Afternoon All

Had some spare time and went for a walk around Nth Albert today with a few archers, Sue, Anna, Steve, Richard and Daryl, with my camera in hand. The weather is a bit overcast today in Brisbane and as a result slow shutter speeds were in use under the forest canopy.

Richard shooting his Lancewood ELB. The tracer effect of the arrow is due to the slow shutter speed = 1/60 second.

See Richard - you do need to move the nocking point.

Steve Wallace shooting - Notice the arrow is flying dead flat and straight from the bow.

A bit closer to the target and it is still flying perfectly

Wonderful photography! :D
It's the great, big, broad land 'way up yonder,
It's the forests where silence has lease;
It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder,
It's the stillness that fills me with peace.

Top picks mate. I too have shot the North Albert range and with some luck I'll get to there or Gladstone this coming year. Fingers crossed.

Afternoon All

Thanks for the nice comments.

And now for those with a cable connection or similar "The Video".

Excuse the noise in the Video but the light levels were low.

As one one person said when talking about the lighting used in a video: "Lighting 20 Million Candle Power Vector HID Spot Light." Could have done with it yesterday.

A masterful touch.

Arrow flight and bow limb tremor interesting.
Thanks

Thanks for posting the pics and video Grahame. The slow-mo certainly let you get a good look at your own shooting style. And yes I do need to move the knocking point
