Noosa River @ Harrys Hut

#1 Post by Scrub Bull » Wed Sep 17, 2014 8:03 am

When I am not at Trad shoots on weekends I fill my time in paddling a canoe.
Last weekend was a long weekend here for the Noosa Show, so off to Harrys Hut I went.
Harrys Hut is on the upper part of the Noosa River.
Here is an image from 6am Sunday morning, 200 degree view of the river.
For those down in the cold south it was already 22 degrees at that time of the morning.

I'm a relatively keen canoeist/kayaker myself Mark. What sort of a canoe do you have?
There is no use focusing on aiming if you don't execute the shot well enough to hit what your are aiming at.

Our canoe for the weekend was a Old Town Guide 160. This is our work horse as it can carry over 500kg
Here it is at camp site 3 on the Noosa river.
The image is about a 210 degree view. 4 images put together to make this view. Camera was a Gopro 3+ black and was hand held.
We paddled 26 km that day and did not see another person. The river was this still all day.

Hi Mark
I we call Queenslanders "Banana benders" but I didn't know that they shaped their canoes like bananas as well. I like how the jetty has been made to take the shape as well very clever you Queenslanders. It must make it easy to go around the bends in the river. Nice photos Mark.

Cheers Jo
