whitetails and GSP's

#1 Post by Tuffcity » Wed Dec 04, 2013 8:31 am

... not GPS's :)

Probably the last hunt for me this year and Hel and I did our annual whitetail trip to our cabin in the southern interior of BC. We took our younger (4 yr old) German shorthair pointer (GSP) with us this year, not to use him while deer hunting but just an outing for him. Our old GSP, at 15, is happier to go from couch to bowl and return. As per the time of year we had some snow but the temps were reasonable- ranging from -6C to 0C. We were later than usual so the rut was winding down and between that and the wolves howling behind our tree stands we didn't see a lot of deer. Again it was a nice few days away- 2 driving and 3 days hunting. Here's a couple from where winter is starting. :)

Tuff good to see the wood arrows getting some use. Grew up with GSP's shooting quail over them when we where kids. A great faithful k-9. We don't get to see to many with the short tails these days as the greenies have got a hold and you arn't allowed to dock them in Aussie anymore.
Congratulations on the whitetail the photo is a cracker mate.
