Dumaresq River Texas QLD
A little meander north had us back in Queensland where we planned to spend a few nights on the river at Texas. We were enjoying it so much we ended up staying there four nights. It's a great spot and only about 1km from town. There are free hot showers provided for travellers at the public toilets in the centre of town. More and more country towns are providing these services as it is a good way to get travellers to stop and spend money in the towns. We supported the local grocer, butcher, craft shop and even the caravan park where we got a gas bottle refilled. Anyway the following photos are of our camp site and some photos taken in the Texas area.
Well that was about our trip. We went from Texas to home with only an overnight roadside stop at Nanango. Thanks for looking and I hope you get to stay at some of the places we did if you are travelling in those areas. If you do I hope you enjoy them as much as we did.
Jeff
There are some interesting things to see in the area. The old buildings are from the original township which was on the river flats. After a couple of big floods (in the late 1800's and in the 1920's I think it was) they shifted the town to its present location on higher ground.

Great shots Jeff, you sure love your camp oven dinners! If I was at Potters garage, which way would I go to find the old town, mate?
Lately, if life were treating me any better, I'd be suspicious of it's motives!

Not sure where the garage is mate. You just head south out of town towards the river and take the first turn to the right and then the first or second turn on the left.Nephew wrote:If I was at Potters garage, which way would I go to find the old town, mate?
