Jungle Perch
I snapped this shot of a nice JP with my Lumix underwater cam. I really like it.

Great shot! Great fish the ol' JP's. Have to look after them as they are a bit thin on the ground [or water!]

yeah, fairly awesome.

Yeah mate I agree, I am always very careful with these special fish. Barbless hooks and quick release after a photo.bigbob wrote:Great shot! Great fish the ol' JP's. Have to look after them as they are a bit thin on the ground [or water!]

Not so thin on the ground around my neck of the woods but definitely still need to look after them.bigbob wrote:Great shot! Great fish the ol' JP's. Have to look after them as they are a bit thin on the ground [or water!]

Morning.
Great Photo.
Great Fish.
And IMHO thin-on-the-ground.
From their viewpoint living in "difficult" environment you need to be keen to chase them.
Another of the "Great Fishes of Australia".

Yeah there's a few down my way too Rob. (Ingham area) It's just a matter of getting them before the sooties smash the lure. Do you chase them a bit??? I'd love to check out a few of the creeks between cardwell and your way. Some of them look awesome.Flatliner wrote:That's the stuff Andy. Great mood and excellent lighting .

Re: Jungle Perch
They are certainly not as prolific these days as they once were, but luckily things have changed for the better with most people like Andy practicing catch and release. They are worthy of respect and protection usually pulling well above their weight.Great photo once again Andy.
