One for the Bowyers!

#1 Post by Stickbow Hunter » Sun Jun 03, 2012 12:59 pm

We just had a couple of weeks away (in the caravan) recently and came across this tree that I had never seen before. It is an Australian native growing in the Dorrigo region. Going by the way it grows I think it may be a bit brittle for bows but ya never know. The hardness properties are extremely high and it may even be good enough to make the odd broadhead. What do you think?

Jude spotted this rare beauty inside the entrance to the local sewage treatment works and I just couldn't resist sneaking in and grabbing a few snaps of it.

I would be inclined to keep it away from naked flames as I reckon it may explode

Though it may be good for a politician bow maker familiar with Shiddous tactics to get things done
