A few pics from Oregon! Some more added.

#1 Post by slvrslngr » Wed Dec 28, 2011 6:30 am

Well, due to circumstances beyond my or anyone else's control, my elk hunt in Washington didn't happen. The time I had set aside for hunting was taken up by looking after my brothers kids because my brother and sister in law were away dealing with some medical issues. In fact, no hunting happened while home for the holidays, but family comes first. Fortunately, some of the smelly beasts of the rainforest made an appearance in my sisters back yard and I was able to get a few photos, none of them particularly good, but that's ok. It's been a busy but great trip home, got to see pretty much everyone I wanted to see, with a few exceptions. As Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz said, "There's no place like home!". Happy holidays and I hope you enjoy the photos from the beautiful American Pacific Northwest!

Nice!
It's the great, big, broad land 'way up yonder,
It's the forests where silence has lease;
It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder,
It's the stillness that fills me with peace.

Glad you had a great time visiting family and friends. Thanks for the photos and I particularly like the 'Freezing fog in the Willamette Valley' one and the one with the wine glasses.

Just wish I could find that elk herd during bow season, they are generally only around her place during the winter.

Those are some great pics mate, glad your holiday was enjoyable. You need to put some tracking tags on them elk to find them during hunting season. What happens to the spiders when its that cold?

Excellent photos Chris, the teeth started to chater just looking at some of them. Shame about the missed hunting trip, but such is life :roll: . Freezing fog hey, that'd be like really hard-core frost I guess, or really really tiny hail :lol: :lol: .
Glad you're having fun.

Cheers, Rob.

Hi Chris,

Lovely photos I wish I had some animals like that at my hunting properties, don't know about the cold though! See you out at the club where there is no snow and ice.
