#1 Post by otis.drum » Sun Nov 20, 2011 9:04 pm

no bows sorry guys, no game taken. just a few pics of nice little spot called the Wenlock Falls.

a pig was seen, a number of fresh water croc slides and one salt water croc. heaps of barra, saratoga and sooty grunter caught. a few tarpon and a good feed of cherabin.

the upper wenlock is an awesome place. pm me for some billabong co-ordinates on the same station. it's good!

yeah a splash in the shallows... but there are still big salties up in this area. even if it is nearly 200km for the sea. we saw one on the upstream side of the falls.

Yeah mate I should imagine it would be in the shallows; I'm not real game when it comes to those big lizards.

WHAT ... :?: :?: :?:
we saw one on the upstream side of the falls.
:surprised: :surprised: :surprised: well I'll be.................
I didn't know that they could get up, up the top side of any water falls.

So I gather you were all, way up a lot further.

And that last picture is making me hungry. (they even make good Yellow belly bait.)

yeah the barra like them too.

crocs generally get upstream of falls during wet season when the falls are flooded and they can just go around. there are not a lot of spots crocs don't get to on the cape. and you'd be shocked at how small a pond of water they need. big enough to sit in is big enough to live in for a croc.

as you'll see in the third photo i like to adopt the rule of 'put the wife and dogs in the water for a while first'

'put the wife and dogs in the water for a while first'
A wise and a gentleman, allowing them to test the waters temp as you said first

Nice country!
It's the great, big, broad land 'way up yonder,
It's the forests where silence has lease;
It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder,
It's the stillness that fills me with peace.
