After seeing Keiths great shots of all creatures great and in this case small , i thought id throw up some of my finds from around the house in the last year or so.

Superb!
It's the great, big, broad land 'way up yonder,
It's the forests where silence has lease;
It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder,
It's the stillness that fills me with peace.

great pix, bush spider might be a Nephila. Not sure that the funnel web is male as Atrax robustis has a set of single but prominent spurs on the second set of walking legs [from the front] used for holdin the female of during mating as they mate face to face. Having said that at some angles it is not hat apparent. The spinerets at the rear of the abdomen are pretty long and they usually appear longer in the female but that should not be relied upon. Not many people realise that we have a number of scorpion species in Australia.
Thanks for sharing. I really enjoyed them.

thanks guys for the kind comments , if you look at the wolfmother pic Jonow , you will notice all the babies clinging to her back , both of the mothers with babies on their back were found within a few days of each other.
the mothers tend to be a pain to try and get closeups of , as they just keep moving trying to get outa there with all the babies on board.
The Funnel web did have the spurs , he wasnt half as aggresive as some of the females my mate has caught and kept in fish tanks , had to blow a fair bit of air on him to get him to arch up , the first i have found in the house , was barefoot watching tv and looking at the tv guide , when i caught him out the corner of my eye walking directly between my feet with only round a 10cm gap , making his way under the lounge below me , kept him for a month or so .
