Rainforest creek.

#1 Post by UPTHETOP » Tue Jan 25, 2011 8:04 am

Since it hasnt rained for the last week or so the family headed up to a local swimming hole for a freshwater swim as the heat has been something else as well for the last week.
The place is called little crystal creek and is situated half way up the Paluma range near Townsville.
Well it was still running to fast for a swim but managed to get a few nice photo's which turned out alright considering how dark it was down in the gully.
I tried a few slower time lapse ones but just couldn't get the water flow right.Seems the timing was always to long and would disorder the whole shot instead of just the water flow.
Have any of you got any hints of getting a few of those special flowing water creek photos that I like so much.

Thanks Wayne

Have a good steady tripod, use a small f stop so you get a slow shutter speed and use the self timer (I don't think you are using an SLR or you could use mirror lock up) to avoid motion blur from pressing the shutter.

Great pictures, :) but how was the swimming, a bit cold :?: any fish live in the pond :?: again looking at the pictures you have given a real awareness of water movement. 8)
