They are amazing.
It's the great, big, broad land 'way up yonder,
It's the forests where silence has lease;
It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder,
It's the stillness that fills me with peace.

Great photos! It may seem strange but something very Aussie struck me when looking at aerial photos of Rockhampton and that was the Hill's hoists sticking out of the water.

I have to say #22 was a favourite of mine.

Have to agree with woodie and bandsaw no.22 takes some beating.Roos look like they go for a boat ride every day. Guess they figure its better than trying to roo paddle in the water.

It's the way those 'roos are behaving themselves that amazes me. These are wild animals, usually they wouldn't let a human anywhere near 'em! Even they seem to realise, "This time it's different" :o :)
Thanks for that, Grahame.

To me that is pretty poor taste when you consider the wording that accompanies the photo. :roll: There are tens of thousands of people affected by these floods with the added trajety of too many people loosing their lives and they place the emphasis on a kangaroo. :? People's lives are far more valuable than any animals and the fact is this bloke risked his life (and that of SES personel should he have gotten into difficulty) and possibly broke the law by going into the flood waters. Surely the focus should be on people.

I do feel for wildlife and stock in these situations but people come first and common sense should prevail.

Yeah, I take your points, Jeff, but I was just more saying I'm amazed at how tame they are behaving...I would have thought they would scratch and kick if a human came near them, especially in a situation where they are already in trouble. I would imagine that in nature that would make them an easy catch for predators and that instinct would kick in and make them fight anyone trying to rescue them. That possum in one of the shots looks like he's ready to have a go and I would have thought any wild animal would. That's all I was saying.

Craig, I was only commenting on the photo Grahame posted and him asking the question about it. I didn't have problem with the photo you commented about and in fact liked it and it was good to see.

By the way Jeff, thanks for the cuppa and hopefully my next visit can be a bit longer.
I also liked the bit that was on tv where the girl saved the little roo after loosing her dog, I think that was what her words were.

Yeah Ron it was good to put a face to the username. The floods certainly cut short your visit so next time we better look in the workshop first. :D
