Sunday drive

#1 Post by Nutgrass » Mon Jan 10, 2011 8:37 pm

Well when one owns a land rover, where's a hat & does a stupid amount of km/hr under the speed limit...... it must be Sunday ;-)

So it may just have been a Sunday drive, but we may have been out & about getting the wheels dirty, not just on the highway driving people nuts

The message went out & the Princess "soon to be family" were there, as too, were the Grommet family
The usual meeting point included fuel a quick chat & off we went. Nothing strenuous, just a nice drive with lunch, a rest, a swim, all rolled in with a bout of relaxation to fill in the day  The weather came good, I think I even got a little sun burnt on the back of the neck ;-)

A couple of spots out the back of whoop whoop had Princess going white knuckle on the steering wheel, even though he was warned of the hole ;-) Shame the suns reflection doesn't let you see his face...... it was gold

The Grom's make their way through

The kids played & the adults milled around for an hour or 2

So I grabbed a couple of pics

As we set off, I had the cars line up for a pose

We slipped down to check the favourite spot of mine  The boss found this little critter as she was trying to get around Roger ;-)
But he was not going anywhere & in fact, he stayed there for the whole time we were there, barely moving at all  Even when I was swinging the mighty canon in his face ....... probably asking to be told to back off ;-)

I decided a new angle on this photo was in order, so I also decided I would try the new style of HDR I have been trying to learn.

So while I was in the mood for experimenting, I HDR'ed ROGER as well ;-)

Grom took a few great pics while I was stretching the legs on ROGER, so hopefully he will be along to add a tale or 3 & a few pics to back his accusation up ;-) [oops] [pmsl] [pmsl] [pmsl] [pmsl]

It was a good day out thanks guys & gals, hopefully another one coming soon

Magic photos!
It's the great, big, broad land 'way up yonder,
It's the forests where silence has lease;
It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder,
It's the stillness that fills me with peace.

Absolutely beautiful spot, matey! Kinda reminds me of home! You have genuine talent as a photographer, Gary, you ought to be proud of those. :D
Lately, if life were treating me any better, I'd be suspicious of it's motives!
