#1 Post by stringnstik » Tue Oct 26, 2010 12:40 pm

Not a bad capture considering very old ancient snappy camera. Well done to the Mrs stringnstik.

Notice the fire swish down the arrow in flight. leaves an awesome trail

:) Great photo, but how many bows are there actually in the picture (8 ?) not all longbows there's a horse bow there also? and who is the Ghostly figure in the middle.
The arrow in flight reminds me of a fuel dump burn from a F111, don't see any of that any more.
So agiain a nice :) picture.

Shooters get to 50m to shoot, but only a hunter gets inside 20m to hunt.

I second that Gidget. We want to know more.

How about a 'How to do a flaming arrow without loosing your eyebrows' tutorial.

TOO COOL! Fire arrows are the grouse!
Lately, if life were treating me any better, I'd be suspicious of it's motives!

There are various formulas and Im not sure which one Emm set up, she made the arrows and goop. Point was it looked good until it left the bow when it extinguished. However some did work and they blaze very well so more research required.

I make mine with cotton cloth dipped in linseed oil
see this post

it does not extinguish if you give it time too fully ignite but it does not produce a Hollywood blaze. However being totally dry there are no drips or back spray when released.

Use long shafts :)
