frogmouths

#1 Post by UPTHETOP » Fri Oct 15, 2010 7:50 pm

I know we have posted a few photos of them before but caught the family out today teaching the baby how to fly.
Simply a great looking bird.

Excellent photos mate. I love the expression (if you can call it that) on the young one. :D

Great photos, Wayno! Thanks for sharing them.
It's the great, big, broad land 'way up yonder,
It's the forests where silence has lease;
It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder,
It's the stillness that fills me with peace.

Thanks for the pics - one of my favourite birds.
My other favourite bird is the large breasted blonde warbler - but my wife gets angry when I look at pics of those....

Tuffcity, for your information they are Tawny frog mouth owls, I look at a number of the U.S. sites and have no Idea of what some of the animals are so I have to ask.

Cheers Mate

Hey Paul I use a Fuji finepix S100fs.
I was a die hard Canon man for decades but got sick of spending 50$ a lense everyyear to get rid of the mold from the tropic wet season. And yes tried evrything known to man to stop it.
This camera is a fixed lense 28mm-400mm and covers all hunting shots and will do super micro as well.
Easy to operate for a dill like me to boot.
Its not the best but handles rough hiking and I dont know how many times I've dropped it.
I can take up to 20min of video on it as well with the card space all in all a great little camera.
Personal preference I guess. One day I long to take photos like this.

Cheers Wayno
