Thanks fellas I thought I would put a few animal photos up first which always seem harder to get then the scenic ones. Jeff have to many to post will try and cutt it down for you.
Rod we had one day it hit double digits the rest of the time 4-5 deg max for the day.
Gundy simply couldnt afford the extra dollars they charge you for a stag but seen heaps and got a few stalks in for practice they where all huge size for reds.
Got a story going for the mag so will have to wait and see what I got.
It is a magic place alright every corner is a postcard picture.

Cheers enjoy.

Hey Toni yeh mate beleive it or not there's quiet a few yaks around the South Island mostly pets now though.
The story goes that they where used heavily in the gold rush days due to the bad inaccessible country side. Trails blazzed before the horse and cart where just made for these fellas.

Very cool, Wayno!
It's the great, big, broad land 'way up yonder,
It's the forests where silence has lease;
It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder,
It's the stillness that fills me with peace.

Hey Nigel yes mate have got the run down on the Thar and have a friend who might organise next year at the proper time when they move down the mountain a little in summer. Would be great just to see one in the wild.
The chamois well thats another story Ill leave the hardest until last to acheive I think. Both these animals would be my ultimate on trad gear.
I have a photo for you Nigel no doubt you would have seen it in your travels, I love the westland.

Cheers Wayno

Hey Darren yes Steve from Doctari told me you and Mick where going over so I left a few goats and pigs for you( he he ) you will love the challange mate.(The Stags are HUGE.)
Jeff these are probably the best 6 out of hundreds I took, I had a little trouble finding good light as most days where overcast.
The scenery shots.
Cheers Wayne

Great shots Wayno!! The overcast weather can make landscape shots rather drab alright but you have done well with those. :D

Wow - great shots and very beautiful, dramatic country.
Common sense; so rare it should be considered a superpower.

Thanks again fellas. Gundy most areas still closed for the trout Stu wasnt home either so didnt catch up with him. Will send a pm about Doc/ when I get a chance.
Darren spent some time on the Turkeys its what I wanted as well seen probably a 100 or so for the day but boy they have good eye sight for a dumb bird. But then I spotted the goats at 200ft strait up and the challenge was to hard to pass up and spent the rest of the day climbing a moutain. It was only a small goat but was a rewarding hunting experience thats for shore. It is good to know The old bones and heart has still got it. Ring anytime mate.
Steve will see you wednesday night if not at the trad shoot on the weekend.

Cheers Wayno

Hey Wayno great photos mate,I went to gore last year ,did you go and check out the hunting shop opposite that giant brown trout monument?I bought some boots in there.heaps of rifles in there hey.
That bowhunting club was it on the west coast rd somewhere around hokitika?
If it was the same one I saw it from the highway but didnt go in.

Hey Jeff yes thats the bowhunters place alright. They have a great course all in the thick bush. It was like going back 50 years with there bows though they where shooting a lot of those old small wheel bows with the wooden limbs, cant remember the names of them and didnt get a photo as was to busy talking hunting to them.
Thats one thing I miss from NZ nearly every tackle shop or hunting shop has all the top of the range hiking boots something you dont see hear in Aus.
The trout season was closed in the Gore area so didnt get to wet a line.

Truly is a great place to visit.

Cheers Wayno
