Ozbow

The relaunch of TAA brings together a vibrant committee who are pro-active to develop and promote traditional archery in Australia. The committee has already started working to do this, and would like your support.
It is made up of Keith Speight, Nick Lintern, Les Simpson, Robert McKenzie, and me doing PR/Events. There is also a representative in each state who will be selling merchandise as it becomes available.
TAA is a non-profit organisation and is not a governing body and has applied for incorporation. Please read the mission statement and have a look at the website http://www.traditionalarcheryaustralia.org/

A meeting will be held at Wisemans Ferry to formalize our positions until the first AGM to be held at Hunter Valley Traditional in June 2014.
So join TAA, and the organisation will help all of us to gain a higher profile the sport we all love.

If that is the standard of the organisation I better join it to bring it back to planet earth. I sit here on the balcony at Wisemans with partner Annemarie looking out at the vista, where are you all on this momentous occasion. Yes I will be pleased to be a member, Rob was a tad excited yesterday when he finalised the paperwork. See you in a few sleeps.

Yes you will be able to join at Robs or HVTA shoots or for that matter any of the Trad shoots. I am sure one of the reps will be attending the Trad shoots in the various states throughout the year.
Ok Ian will remember to suggest SM (remember, small marquee from another thread) for those with a more robust statue

Tony, you peaked early, for a change.... peg a spot for me will you - and if I find it in the other paddock, you're in trouble...
TAA will also benefit from the likes of your good self "uplifting the standard".

TAA now has 47 proud members and climbing, which is just terrific for Trad Archery.

If you are a member of a club with some Trad archers, print a couple of forms and take them to the club. The more the merrier.

The number of people joining is great and growing everyday. Will have a substantial number increase following the Wisemans Ferry shoot.

I have no objection to $5 or even $10 of course but I dislike driving into town 25 km away to get a P.O and finding a $5 P.O. costs nearly $15 or a bank cheque costs even more to buy! And strictly speaking it is apparently also illegal to stick a $5 note in an envelope and send that as the Post Mistress pointed out to me when I thought I was being clever ...

Only takes 5 minutes to set up a bank account for your association with Bpay or even better a Paypal account and to add a button to a webpage!

I would rather pay you $10 with half of it admin fees than pay petrol and then triple the amount in this day and age when electronic banking and more is so ubiquitous and easy to use. In a couple of weeks I shall have some free time and will volunteer to design you a simple electronic web-form too, to save people having to print one off (I haven't used my printer for a year either and had to get expensive ink for the damn thing)!

Just saying, its Trad Archery which I love but it is also 2014 ...

It seems the website is now up to date, so I have fixed the link in the first post.
We also now have a Membership Secretary and a new membership form has been uploaded with the new address.
TAA needs the original paperwork signed, as does other archery associations. Are you not likely to attend a Trad shoot at all, as these shoots will have at least one of the TAA state reps at them where you can sign on.
The calender on the website has been update and I have the shoots linked back to the individual ozbow threads or previous years if a flyer is not yet available, so everyone can be informed.

Website looks good, thanks for fixing that. The gallery is good especially to let people see examples of what they can expect at trad shoots.
I just stuck a $5 note in with the form yesterday when the postmistress looked away and sent it off as I am about to go into Hospital and won't likely be at any trad shoots for months.

I am pleased to announce Traditional Archery Australia (TAA) now holds a seat on the Archery Alliance of Australia Board. This will give greater support to AA, ABA and 3DAAA should the current legal use of all bows come under increasing pressure from Government and bad press reports following various incidents, as noted on the Archery Alliance website.
It will also bring into the fold those archers who may only attend a Traditional shoot from time to time, of even those whose main archery use is for hunting purposes and are not current members of any of the major associations.
So by joining TAA you are supporting us, to support you.
