Hi Folks,

I'm interested in setting up a bow form that uses a firehose to compress the laminates during curing, Can anyone recommend me a likely source. I did find some at an RFS auction once but it was not a rubberised (wouldnt be airtight) one.

Cheers.

I purchased my hose and fittings from Bingham Projects.

Although probably more expensive now with the low exchange rate I could get the components I wanted without chasing all over the country side for them.

Are you going to use a hot box / heat strips to cure the glue or let the ambient temperature cure it naturally?

Lay Flat irrigation hose works fine also. I have been using it for many years. It is available in different diameters also.

I'll be building myself a hotbox shortly, I have sparky mate who'll wire the thing up for me. For now I'm just lining up my ducks so to speak and making sure I can source what I need so I can plan my form.

What do you use for plugs/air valves?

I had them machined up from steel and a tyre valve fitted the one end.

When making your bow can you post some photographs and a story showing how you progressed from start to finish?

Such a post may encourage others to have a go.
