Demo Bow, for me

#1 Post by Flatliner » Thu Apr 02, 2015 11:42 am

I get quite a few people coming to my place to try out my bows and the lightest draw weight I had until now was 42#, so I've made one that the ladies and youngsters should be able to shoot.
Must say I don't mind flicking a few through it too, it's almost effortless and the groups are good.

Bow stats: Flatline Raptor, 58" n-n, 30#@28".
Timbers: limbs; Black Palm and Orange Boxwood.
Riser; QLD Walnut, Red Bean, Silver Ash with Black Palm and Aust Ebony inlays.

Absolutely beautiful Rob. You're every bit as much an artist as what you are a bowyer. 8)
There is no use focusing on aiming if you don't execute the shot well enough to hit what your are aiming at.

Probably one of the most intricate bows out side of Blacktail [ which go for about $4000+ US] I have ever seen.Truly beautiful Rob. why would anyone want to buy US stuff when they could get one of yours and feature all Aussie wood into the bargain.

Hey Rob,

That is nothing short of fricken beautiful mate, awesome job. The effect that the end grain of that black palm gives is stunning, the combination of all the timbers is just incredible.

Gee wiz fella's  thanks very much, I'm very humbled by your comments. But really it's nature that is the artist I'm just sticking bits of natural art together in the most pleasing way I can think of.

Funny you should say that Swami,,,, this is what I thought they meant by prac/art when I was in high school.

Thanks again,
Rob.

Craftsmanship in this thing is nothing short of astounding!! Absolutely unreal piece Rob. Love the dark and light timber contrast in it.
