Ultimate trad hunters arm guard

#1 Post by Goatchaser » Sun Nov 09, 2014 9:37 am

Gday guys, have been pretty busy lately with the bows and knives, here is a little project I have had floating around in my head for a while now, step one was to design and make some knives suitable for the job, which is when I came up with these nice little scanti grind skinners, all handle are 2 tone Aussie hardwoods with either brass or stainless steel bolsters and pins, all blades are 52100 high carbon hardened to 60 on the rockwell scale.

After a bit of messing around with some Roo leather I came up with this, super flexible with the double layer thin roo leather,

That's nice work. What's the handle/blade length for those knives?

Nice work Sean, The whole outfit looks great. I've been keen on trying something like that ever since I saw Barry Wensel wearing a bracer with a little skinner attached in MBB. Your bolsters look very neat, are they pinned or silver soldered? I like the way they blend into the scales. Love the two tone scales with accent. That a unique looking sheath design too. Top job mate.

Cheers.... Rod
