Re: Number 80
I'm glad I can be the first to say that that bow is superb. Absolutely stunning.
Is that blue diamondwood natural or has it had something done to it?
You've done very well with your photography too; as it shows the bow off very nicely.

That is the best yet, Boof! Awesome job and a really impressive 'curve, mate!
Lately, if life were treating me any better, I'd be suspicious of it's motives!
Re: Number 80
I have to echo the above sentiments Rod, that is probably the most impressive bow from a heap of really great ones that I've seen.Excellent! Love the black wattle and the contrast with the diamond wood, just the curves and the overall appearance is spot on.

That's really nice! It has a beautifully shaped riser and the proportions are just about perfect. The black wattle is a really attractive timber too. I'm not too sure about the diamond wood showing in the sight window though. Is it there to add strength or bling?
There is no use focusing on aiming if you don't execute the shot well enough to hit what your are aiming at.

Re: Number 80
Thanks Mick, the blue is there because the the wattle I had was half inch thinner then I needed and it gives it strength......and Bling

Re: Number 80
I agree with Mick that the riser on this bow looks about the best I've seen on your recurves. There are two things I don't like though mate and that is the ugly 'I' beam and the the way you have done the sight window. Yeah I know I'm old fashioned.

I think the diamond wood is nice. I particularly like the slender looking handle section!

Re: Number 80
Nice flowing lines on the recurve Rod and black wattle is one of my favourite timbers for risers.
Bling is not my thing but well done.
Daryl.

Re: Number 80
Thank you Daryl, its the first time I've used it in a riser, and I really like it too,i have used it in the core of a few bows and its great for that too.........Mr Scrub bull gave me a plank of it a couple of years ago thanks mate
Re: Number 80
Mate, you better knock it off for a while I think. It gets confusing! Between the riser profile on that and the beautiful curves on your D/R's how is a man meant to decide?

I have always liked all the bows you have posted, but this one has really caught my attention

I am impressed!

Re: Number 80
Great looking recurve Rod.
Looks like three core laminations in that stack , or am I wrong ?
How does it feels to tiler a recurve ?
That's a fantastic job.
Good on ya...

Morning Rod.
The bow looks nice and appears well made. So for the big question, You being the builder. Is it nice to shoot, does it meet your expectations from a performance perspective, would build another the same or would you modify the design and why/what.
What do you prefer the recurve or your flatbows/longbows.
A very nice piece of work, you have come a very long way since your first longbow .............. and you did great work then.

Re: Number 80
Thank you guys ...........Toby its around 7 in..i was using a string off my other recurve so just left it where it was,i make a new string for it and play around with brace height and nock point......Grahame,i like shooting it ,yes I will be building more of the same in the future I put it through my crono 10gpp and it does between 59 fps and 190fps,i think my chrono had a nervous brake down or something I throws a 600 grn arrow pretty good so I might take it hunting in the future ............I don't really have a preference I love shooting them all.........my next bow will be another semirecurve but with carbon.
