#1 Post by Gringa Bows » Sun Jul 14, 2013 12:37 pm

I've been making a few one piece recurves lately,so I thought i'de put some pics on, I mean get my mate Jeff to put them on for me  i'll have to learn how to do that one day  anyway the bows are 62in- 48lb that I hope to blood next week ,timber in the riser is bubinga purple heart and a little bit of wenge ,in the pics its the braced bow,the other is 64in -55lb bubinga and a little bit of purple heart.thats heading to the N.T..............i'm liking the feel of the high wrist riser ,a bit different for my bows

Looking good Rod.
I'll hit you up in a PM as I have mate whose looking for a curve. And I know she would love an aussie bow even if she is a Kiwi ;)

Mate! Wicked recurves, Boof! 8) How did you find shaping the pistol grip handle? Bit of a steep learning curve? Good luck during the week, gotta see some pics of ya bloodin' the 62"er.

Outstanding work mate very classic old school lines and love a bowmaker that keeps evolving in his bow designs. Far to many that get a design and never change anything after that.
Well done mate..
Cheers KIM

Excellent work Rod, I knew you would come around to the curves in the end. A little more challenging, but what a great result.
How do they shoot?
Did you make two separate forms or just leave the limbs longer to get the different length bows?
Don't usually use imported timbers but I bought my self a piece of Bubinga recently from the mill I get most of the timber that I can't gather myself cause they are closing down in a couple of months (Bummer) and I couldn't resist. glad to see it's so attractive.

Cheers, Rob.
