The bow you just made I'd say but I haven't seen a photo of it strung yet to say 100% on that.

If the limbs of a bow recurve (reflex) to any degree when strung then the bow is a recurve. A bow is either a recurve or it isn't.
Yes. It is equivalent to being a bit pregnant. Either you are or are not. There is no middle ground.

Very nice looking bow Bob, I don't care what it is called ! I know what I like & the limbs of that bow are sweet. A bit to recurve in the handle for me, but that is a personal choice & takes nothing away from the fine craftsmen ship you are developing :!:
Look forward to future creations 8)

Thanks for that Nutty.Rod had much the same personal preference with the riser shape and I know exactly what you are saying. I really like the slim and sleek HH style risers myself. The design of this bow called for a large riser of 18'' and the embellishments like the overlays on the belly side of the riser are not entirely just for show. The lower one where the arrowhead is [photos still happening] fits the lower palm and keeps the wrist steady. It gives a rock solid but very comfortable grip.

Thanks Rob, You've been a bit quiet on here lately? I happen to have a relative living up your way who has his own Lucas mill and is in the process of sending me some of his off cuts etc. I'.m really hanging out waiting for it.Here's a couple more shots I took.Sorry Jeff the arrowhead is a bit out of focus. My daughter has been and taken plenty but has to reduce the files and edit them so in the meantime---

Yeah Bob Ive been working out of town with no internet or phone service and playing catch up on the weekend, very little time to devote to the best side of life (that being the bow side) but the job should be finished in a few weeks and I can get a life again.
Wouldn't mind meeting your "relative" some time, is he in Cairns ? Contacts like that are good to have.

You can see the Highlights in that Black wattle in the last set of photos, quite specy really, nice work once again Bob.

Rob.

Thanks Jase and Jeff! The arrow head was almost an after thought but ended up happy with result. Even these photos dont do the timber justice Jeff. It really has a real translucent lustre.

That last close up photo of the bow has a lot more contrast than the previous ones and really shows up the beauty of the woods. A great combination there.
