Make some out of it and see. I did that with popler pine, they are not to bad but they do not like hitting dead tree trunks.

may your arrows fly straight and true and your limbs return.

I use hoop pine floor boards to make arrows and it works great. The guy that showed me how told me then that bunya was even better but I have never found any yet to try.

Kim where do you get hoop pine floor boards from?

Woodie, A lot of the old homes up in Queensland had their walls and floors made of tongue and groove Hoop Pine flooring. It was beautiful 'A' grade wood too. Hoop Pine is available from timber yards also.

A mate of mine has thousands of Hoop Pine shafts that were professionally made but he is too lazy to sort them out and put them up here for sale.

I don't think there is much down here, well I have not seen it anyway, I have been using hoop pine for ages but I to go through all the dowels at bunnings to get the right ones.
I will have to look around for some boards though.

I have used it before. I didn't make them myself, they were brought shafts.
But they were ok, a bit easy to snap off at the start of the taper.

Shooters get to 50m to shoot, but only a hunter gets inside 20m to hunt.
