First static tip'curve.
just finished my first foray into static tip curves and very happy with the way this bow came out and performs. The other bow is a Deflex/reflex which is available and is 44# @ 28''.the 'curve is 55# @ 28''and 58'' NTN.Pm if interested in the deflex/relex.

Spectacular Bigbob - I think the Macquarrie dictionary needs one of these photos to define "Gloss". Super good!

Absolutely stunning Bob!! Love that curve mate, elegant and simple but I bet she packs a wallop!
Re: First static tip'curve.
Bob - you call this your first foray into 'static' recurves which has confused me a little. I was under the impression that most modern glass laminate recurves were of the static variety - that is to say they don't slightly unfurl under draw like a 'working' recurve. And you've made a truckload of recurves if I'm remembering right. Either way, how did you feel the static tips perform in comparison with non-static tips in your experience?
Re: First static tip'curve.
Thanks Sabinus and Col! This finish has been along experimental road with heaps of grief, and a lot of money but starting to get it worked out. Col, the' curve sure does have a bit of punch to it, really like its performance.the static tip is just that it moves very little when under load compared to the'dynamic type where the tip moves more with the string. They normally load up quicker than the dynamic type as they offer resistance to the force of the draw, and the tip acts somewhat as a lever .

Re: First static tip'curve.
Couple of shots Kerry, one unstrung and one strung.. although it has the classic 'D' shape when strung, there is the smallest amount of reflex visible near the tip on the back of bow. under ABA rules it becomes a 'modern' longbow meaning red peg for those familiar

Beautiful bows Bob
Re: First static tip'curve.
Bob, Mate! they just keep getting better. You really are getting a win with that finish. Makes it hard to put a satin coat over it for the hunters sometimes hey.

Re: First static tip'curve.
thanks Rob! yeah got one to make soon for a customer who wants to use it hunting but still likes a bit of 'bling' so might have to tone it back with the satin as you say. That gloss will reflect for miles!

Its hard to get a good gloss finish but you nailed these two bows. Great work.
Re: First static tip'curve.
thanks Ben, but heap of curses, money and tantrums before this lot came to fruition!!. Still a lottery every time I try it too.
