Long bow books

#1 Post by Len » Wed Jan 17, 2007 7:50 pm

The best recent books I've read on the English long bow and would highly recomend are;The Great Warbow by Matthew Srickland&Robert Hardy (not just ELBs but war bows of all sorts and heaps about the Mary Rose bows) and the two volumes by Hugh D. H. Soar -The Crooked Stick & Secrets of the English War Bow the last in particular, it covers arrow making, bow making and lots of tests of bows vs armour with good pics of real war bow poundage long bows being used against various armours on a pig's carcass.
Hmmmmmmm.............
